Hue, the smart lighting system from Philips, became an integral part of connected homes. It has never been so easy to always have the right light at home. One IP-capable Hue lamp has over 16 million colours, one Hue Bridge gateway can enable up to 50 lamps to be controlled via smartphone or tablet. The Philips Hue product range is diverse, ranging from simple LED light bulbs to ceiling lamps, spotlights and table lamps, to linked motion sensors and dimmers. They all can be connected with other smart home devices with the iHaus App, which creates a wide range of applications.
If you bought new Philips Hue lamps, you have to set them up first in the Hue app, before you can use them with iHaus. Once they are detected there, the iHaus App can access the lamps too.
The iHaus App automatically detects Philips Hue lights. Just click "+ Add" and create a LINKIT for each lamp. Then you can control the individual lights with the iHaus App right away.
Now you can connect the Philips Hue lamps to other KNX and IoT devices via so-called SUM-ITUP scenes, creating individual situations. By linking your light to Amazon Echo for example.
Of course with the iHaus App you can also access the complete colour spectrum of the Philips Hue lights. You can additionally even adjust brightness and saturation. Be your own director in your smart home.
Note: The linking to Alexa only works with an active 24/7 server mode.
As an introduction to smart home and the first test of the Philips light system, the LED bulbs and the Hue Bridge suit a starter pack. It can control up to 50 lights and with the white and colour starter set with two white and coloured bulbs (A60 design, E27 single contact), your home will shine in bright colours or white light with various warm and cold tones.
The Philips LED lights are available in different shapes and designs, white, white ambiance or white and colour ambiance. The simplest shape of white lights still has a high quality white light. White ambiance on the other side has a range of different cold and warm white shades. The white and colour ambiance contains all white shades and also 16 million colour varieties.
