In the iHaus App, KNX and IoT devices meet in the smart home and can thus be controlled together. After two years of development and maturing with KNX development partner JUNG, the iHaus platform now opens to all other KNX providers.
Unterföhring/ Germany, November 15, 2017: It is now even easier to control the connected home independently of brand or system. With the iHaus App, more than 7,000 KNX-certified devices from more than 400 manufacturers can now be linked to the Internet of Things and be used with one central platform. After two years of development work with the systems of the premium partner JUNG, the iHaus ecosystem also opens to all other KNX manufacturers for professional home automation. This makes the control in the smart home even more complete and usable for everyone. The new KNX LINKIT for KNX integration is now available as a license in the iHaus online shop and as an in-app purchase in the Google Play and Apple App Store.
As the only all-in-one platform of this kind, the iHaus Smart Home App enables its users to easily operate and visualize KNX systems in combination with devices from the world of the Internet of Things (IoT). Now, in addition to the JUNG system, KNX from Gira, Hager, Busch-Jaeger, Merten and other well-known providers can also be used. Even the Loxone system is being introduced.
At the same time, more than 30 well-known Internet-enabled devices such as Philips Hue or IKEA Tradfri luminaires, Sonos loudspeakers, Bosch & Siemens home appliances with Home Connect function, Netatmo weather stations, iHaus smoke detectors or Apple HomeKit-compatible sockets and thermostats, as well as Tesla e-cars and much more can now be installed. With Amazon Echo, the language assistant Alexa and the iHaus Skill, all connected products and scenes can also be controlled by voice command. Thanks to the iHaus 24/7 server mode, all devices can also be operated while on the move.
In the basic functions, the iHaus App remains free. The new iHaus KNX-LINKIT for all KNX manufacturers is now available as a license in the iHaus online shop as well as an in-app purchase for Android in the Google Play Store or for Apple devices in the App Store. After a 30-day free trial, the lifetime version can be purchased for € 499.99, € 129.99 per year or € 16.99 per month. Prerequisite is a certified IP interface to the KNX system. Special and costly KNX interfaces for the respective Sonos, Hue or Alexa connection are therefore no longer necessary.
The iHaus ecosystem is the simple and affordable operating, visualization and information solution for anyone looking to upgrade their KNX system with IoT devices emerging in the consumer market or for those looking for a flexible and open smart home system at home.
With the basic features, the app is available for free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store worldwide in five languages (German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch).
With the voice command "Alexa, start scene GOOD MORNING" for example, the Hue, Tradfri or KNX lights in the house can provide a pleasant lighting mood, the KNX shutters shut down and the KNX or IoT heating controller can create a comfortable feel-good temperature. The Sonos loudspeakers take care of the perfect background music and the Home Connect coffee machine brews the first coffee in the morning. Even the Tesla can prepare for the upcoming ride by standing by with the battery charged overnight and activating the heater. And all this with just a voice command to Alexa, a tap in the iHaus App or fully automated by timer. Such a scenario can even be transferred to a KNX multifunction switch. For example, the “Exit Home” button at the door will turn off all devices when you leave the house.
Another handy feature is the TRIGGER function, which creates if-this-then-that relationships and plays them dynamically. For example, if Google Maps predicts a longer drive to work, then the wake-up scenario starts earlier.
Additional application ideas and support are provided by (video) tutorials on the iHaus website.
